Chimpanzee tracking in Uganda is exciting and rewards trekkers with lifetime experiences. There exist about 5050 chimpanzees in Uganda, some of which have been habituated for chimpanzee trekking purposes.

In Uganda, the best places to consider visiting for chimpanzee tracking include Kibale Forest National Park, Budongo Forest, Kalinzu Forest, Kyambura Gorge, Toro-Semuliki Wildlife Reserve. Besides chimpanzee tracking, there is also possibility to see chimpanzees while on chimpanzee habituation experience, a unique primate adventure offered in Kibale Forest National Park and Budongo Forest.

The rates for chimpanzee tracking permits vary depending on the destination. In Kibale Forest National Park, they are obtainable at US Dollars 200 for foreign non-residents, $150 for foreign residents and shs 150000 for East Africa Community citizens. In Kyambura Gorge, chimpanzee tracking permits cost 50 US Dollars for both non-foreign residents and foreign residents, shs 30,000. Chimpanzee trekking permits at Ngogo Chimpanzee Project cost $400 for foreign non-residents, foreign residents and East Africa Community citizens
